Doing something after doing nothing

Nearly two years pass after I self-publish my first book. I had an idea for a small series, but I was once again hindered without an illustrator. I had a specific look and feel for my characters that I wanted. I started painting these illustrations by hand. I’m no artist, but they were cute!

Painting by hand took waaaaay too long. It took several days to paint one picture. Many aspects of the illustration needed to dry before adding the next element. So once again, I looked into digital art. My first attempt was a disaster. It looked like what we kids used to do on Paint from the old Windows program.

I kept trying, and eventually figured out how to use BeFunky. Now I could really get this series done!
